Frequently Asked Questions
When should we book our wedding officiant?
Most couples book 8–12 months in advance to ensure their date is reserved, especially during peak wedding season. For elopements or smaller ceremonies, 3–6 months is typically enough. If your date is sooner, reach out—I may still be available!
Can our officiant obtain the marriage license for us?
In Florida, the couple must apply for the marriage license themselves at any county clerk’s office. As your officiant, I cannot obtain the license on your behalf, but I will guide you through the process so it feels simple and stress-free. After your ceremony, I’ll sign and return the completed license to the clerk’s office to make everything official.
Do you charge travel fees for weddings?
es. While weddings within Polk County are included in my standard service fee, travel outside of the county may incur an additional charge to cover mileage and travel time. I’ll provide a clear estimate up front so there are no surprises, and you can feel confident knowing exactly what to expect.
TRAVEL POLICY
Weddings within Polk County → Included in my standard service fee.
Weddings up to 30 miles outside of Polk County → $50 flat travel fee.
Weddings 31–60 miles outside of Polk County → $100 flat travel fee.
Weddings over 60 miles → Custom travel quote based on distance, travel time, and accommodations (if necessary).
This way, you’ll always know exactly what to expect with no hidden costs. My goal is to make the process simple, transparent, and stress-free so you can focus on celebrating your love.
When will we receive our completed marriage license back?
After your ceremony, I will sign and promptly return your marriage license to the county clerk’s office. Once processed, the clerk will mail the certified copy directly to you. In most Florida counties, this takes about 2–4 weeks, though timelines may vary slightly depending on the clerk’s office.
